This was my final piece of work at the Hochschule der Kunste, Berlin, in 1995.
I intentionally resisted the making of monuments or sculptures out of
non-degradable materials, which I could see everywhere in Berlin at that time.
I wanted to find my own material for my personal art work and I wanted to consider
the ecological effects of the materials used. I used 5.000 recycled egg cartons
for the project to construct the "skin" of my sculpture. From this project the
later "Where the Soul is" sculptures developed.
I would like to continue working with recycled paper and to research different
ways of recycling in different countries through my art work.
